Since 2015, we have been focused on reducing the stigma surrounding HIV on an international scale.

OUR MISSION

Youth Across Borders is a volunteer based organization that creates mutually beneficial cross-cultural experiences for children and young adults living with HIV. Through education, YAB raises awareness and reduces stigma. YAB offers opportunities by sharing life experience as a means of fostering collaboration, hope, and contribution, locally and internationally.

What We’ve Achieved

  • Service Teams

Led 6 service teams totaling 84 people to a group home for children living with HIV in Honduras

  • Youth Ambassadors

Sponsored 37 Youth Ambassadors over six years, each spending eight days in Honduras at a home for children and youth living with HIV.

  • Growth & Improvement

Facilitated improvement in the physical living atmosphere at Montana de Luz in Honduras

  • Workshops

Presented educational workshops on a wide variety of topics including self care, inclusion, acceptance, resume writing, self confidence, health, and sex education

  • Education & Our Mission

Youth Ambassadors have taken the message of YAB and HIV prevention to high school health classes reaching 1200+ students. Through our new YAB Speaks program we will continue our student education efforts and are expanding to include speaking to community groups.

Jen

Listen to one of our volunteers, Jen, speak about the impact of Youth Across Borders.

“Dear Youth Across Borders Supporters,

I would like to thank you for this wonderful opportunity to meet children who live a life so similar to mine. My experience cannot be put into words but I can say that I made unbelievable connections and remarkable memories. Knowing that I am not alone in a world that does not understand our one shared characteristic. Again, thank you for this opportunity that I will carry with me forever.”
